East Side West Side Music Together Class

Gaia Rose and I went to the East Side West Side music together class today. http://eswsmusictogether.com/ It was held @ the Martha Graham Center for Contemporary Dance located @ 316 East 63rd Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue. The Center is a short walk from the green line subway and easy to find. The room used for the ESWS Music Together class is a dance studio. My daughter loved the mirrors. She felt larger than life! She was encouraged by the instructors to crawl around durring the session because she was still learning about rhythm and tone and still listening to me sing and dance. Any children that are sensitive to loud noises would prefer a Music Together class in a larger room. It was loud! My daughter loved it and napped well afterwards. My favorite part is the smorgesboard song where the children played with the instruments. The class is a mixed age group and the parents and nannies were friendly.

  1. Getting her into music at a young age, eh? She does seem pretty interested in those mirrors. You might want to get her a toy to play with that can hone her musical sensibilities, like Simon, or this toy that I just saw at someone's house, the Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube . Anything with multiple tones and flashing lights!
